Differences between standard periodical and preferred periodical

Unlike POSTVERTRIEBSSTÜCK (preferred periodicals), our PRESSESENDUNG product offers you more design freedom. What's more, it allows more advertising content. The amount of conventional press copy can be less than 30 percent. It can be used to send customer magazines, penny novels, puzzle books and travel magazines. However, brochures, advertising mail or mail-order catalogs are not considered standard periodicals.

Your publications must also meet the following formal requirements:

• Minimum quantity 1,000
• Identical format, pages largely printed on both sides, with a folding binding or bookbinding finish
• Produced using a printing procedure common in the industry
• Consistent inner and outer design
• Title page must display title, number and date of issue
• Regular issue frequency, at least once a quarter
• Subscription generally open to all
• Minimum format: 90 x 140mm
• Maximum format: 250 x 353mm (B4)
• Weight: up to 1,000g
• Inserts must be identical in content and stackable

The sender's details on the address side must clearly indicate that your company is a publishing house or publication retailer.

Dispatch preparation

Please affix address labels to your copies and remember to use the newspaper ID (Zeitungskennzahl). Sort your items by postcode and if possible, place them into same-size bundles weighing no more than 10kg. If you are sending more than 200kg to one postcode area, please hand over these bundles to us on pallets. Our Pressepostmanager software can assist you in preparing your items for dispatch.
